I reached in a new point witch im struggling with the way i deal with colors and compositions, so i halted all illustrations i had prepared for the past few months.

Square, square everywhere !!!


As you all can see, i had been on pixel stuff most of the time.

There is a few reasons for that decision.


  • 1 - i love it.


  • 2 - The limitations give me a different set of options while sketching, without make me worry about things that usually slow me down or even make me give up at finishing a illustration.

A example: Cleaning lines ... (this is something necessary with pixel draws too, but in a very low demand, since i don't use the most apreciated softwares in the moment which have clear line tools, like asesprite or pixelorama.).


  • 3 - Animating in sprites is just wonderfull, it help me to find out new poses for characters while improving silhouette,and other things for background compositions, without waste time looking for external references, and most of the time the full picture of a future pixel post appears in the early frames of animation's sketching, just like few example here, here, here, and here.


  • 4 - I'm not exposing it as i should but, im testing few concepts of designs for a future game project, and the most prominent until now is pixel design, i've even tested pixels in 3D models with Blender, and it looks great.


  • 5 - Did i already said that i love Pixels ?


  • 6 - As someone who grown up playing games since 8-bit era, its just look natural to follow the pixel way, this dosen't mean that i stoped with others concepts, even 3D illustrations must pop up at anythime too. I am not going more deep into it by the fact that im still in debt with some animated GIFs mentioned in my last post ! XD


  • 7 - PIXEL IS ART !


  • 8 - Pixel is one of the base pilar of Videogame's story ! With that said, in my conception, Videogame is the most complex and complete form of art. And art is what make me want go foward these days !

Como vocês podem ver, eu estive em coisas de pixel a maior parte do tempo.

Existem algumas razões para essa decisão.


  • 1 - eu amo isso.


  • 2 - As limitações me dão um conjunto diferente de opções de desenho, sem me preocupar com coisas que costumam me atrasar ou até mesmo me fazer desistir de terminar uma ilustração.

Um exemplo: Limpeza de linhas ... (isto é algo necessário também com desenho de pixel, mas com uma demanda muito baixa, já que não uso os softwares mais apreciados no momento que possuem ferramentas de linhas claras, como asesprite ou pixelorama.) .


  • 3 - Animar em sprites é simplesmente maravilhoso, me ajuda a descobrir novas poses para personagens enquanto melhora a silhueta, e outras coisas para composições de fundo, sem perder tempo procurando referências externas, e na maioria das vezes a imagem completa de um futuro pixel post aparece nos primeiros quadros do esboço da animação, assim como alguns exemplos aqui, aqui, aqui, e aqui.


  • 4 - Não estou expondo como deveria, mas estou testando alguns conceitos de designs para um futuro projeto de jogo, e o mais proeminente até agora é o design de pixels, eu até testei pixels em modelos 3D com o Blender, e parece ótimo.


  • 5 - Já disse que adoro Pixels?


  • 6 - Como alguém que cresceu jogando games desde a era dos 8 bits, parece natural seguir o caminho dos pixels, isso não significa que parei com outros conceitos, até mesmo ilustrações 3D devem aparecer a qualquer momento também. Não vou me aprofundar mais nisso pelo fato de ainda estar em débito com alguns GIFs animados mencionados no meu último post! XD


  • 7 - PIXEL É ARTE!


  • 8 - Pixel é um dos pilares da história do Videogame! Dito isso, na minha concepção, Videogame é a forma de arte mais complexa e completa. E arte é o que me faz querer seguir em frente hoje em dia!

In those past months, I ve been trying to focus on coding, 3D modeling and 3D/2D animations, thats why i had posted those FX. And those Three SDs, Marie, Scorpion and Aya are little moments of inspiration while playing DoA5, MK9 and PE1.

For the near future, some gifs of KOF must pop up with other draws of nature/landscape and, more pixelated chibi stuffs !

For now, returning to suffering with codes ... ! :P

Well, the first wave was good, i liked the results of pixels stuffs, ( normaly its a pain in the a.. "bumbum".. to be satisfied with my own stuffs... ), not even Kratos has escaped of become kawaii in someway !!! XD

With that said, i will try to mix up a little with others styles from now on, just like my old posts. Its not the end of Pixielated Chibi stuff, i still have some characters on mind to try it out, only the frequency of posts will be less, compared with last few weeks.
